What ages do you teach?

We have programs for every age: Toddler Music Classes for ages 1–4, with a parent or caregiver. Private lessons for ages 5 to adult; voice lessons usually start at age 7, but we're happy to talk with you about younger singers. Music groups for ages 8 to adult. For private lessons, children 9 and under should be able to stay focused for the full lesson. We usually recommend 30-minute lessons for younger students.

How much are lessons?

Tuition is a flat monthly membership with one lesson or class per week: Toddler Music (45 min) $85/month; music groups (45 min) $125/month; private lessons (30 min) $155/month; private lessons (60 min) $295/month. Quarterly plans cost less: $375/quarter for music groups, $435/quarter for 30-minute private lessons, and $855/quarter for 60-minute private lessons. Recital participation is included. How do I choose the right program?

You don't have to figure that out on your own. Before you enroll, someone from our team gets to know your student through a phone call or text conversation: the music they love, their personality, and what they need. From there, we recommend the program we think will fit best, whether that's private lessons, a music group, or Toddler Music.

Question 5

What do I need to bring to lessons?

For your first lesson, all you need to bring is yourself, ready to learn! We will provide you with everything else you need for class, including sticks and learning material. Following the first lesson, we will advise the student on the specific materials to purchase, depending on their chosen instrument. These are usually a keyboard, piano or guitar, instructional books, or sticks and a practice pad.

Can I cancel my membership at anytime?

Yes. Memberships are month-to-month, and you can cancel by emailing office@nievesmusicstudio.com. Notice deadlines vary by program, so check our Policies page or ask us for the details that apply to you.

Question 7

How do I change my weekly lesson/class time?

Accepted Answer

If you choose a time for lessons/classes and later decide that you need to make an adjustment, all you have to do is contact us and request a time change. Make sure to state the desired new lesson time and day of the week. Lesson times are subject to availability.

Do I need any prior experience?

Not at all! We love working with beginners! Our teachers are patient and ready to help you start your musical journey. All we ask is that you come ready to learn. There's no time better than the present to start!
